Search for Dark Matter Particles Produced in Association with a Top Quark Pair at √s =13 TeV
(2019)Physical Review LettersA search is performed for dark matter particles produced in association with a top quark pair in proton-proton collisions at √s=13 TeV. The data correspond to an integrated luminosity of 35.9 fb−1 recorded by the CMS detector at the LHC. No significant excess over the standard model expectation is observed. The results are interpreted using simplified models of dark matter production via spin-0 mediators that couple to dark matter ...Journal Article -
Search for new physics in dijet angular distributions using proton–proton collisions at √s=13TeV and constraints on dark matter and other models
(2018)The European Physical Journal CA search is presented for physics beyond the standard model, based on measurements of dijet angular distributions in proton–proton collisions at √s=13TeV. The data collected with the CMS detector at the LHC correspond to an integrated luminosity of 35.9fb−1. The observed distributions, corrected to particle level, are found to be in agreement with predictions from perturbative quantum chromodynamics that include electroweak corrections. ...Journal Article -
Measurement of the top quark mass with lepton+jets final states using p p collisions at √s=13TeV
(2018)The European Physical Journal CThe mass of the top quark is measured using a sample of tt¯ events collected by the CMS detector using proton-proton collisions at s√=13 TeV at the CERN LHC. Events are selected with one isolated muon or electron and at least four jets from data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 35.9fb−1. For each event the mass is reconstructed from a kinematic fit of the decay products to a tt¯ hypothesis. Using the ideogram method, the top ...Journal Article -
Measurement of exclusive Υ photoproduction from protons in p Pb collisions at √sNN=5.02TeV
(2019)The European Physical Journal CThe exclusive photoproduction of Υ(nS) meson states from protons, γp→Υ(nS)p (with n=1,2,3), is studied in ultraperipheral pPb collisions at a centre-of-mass energy per nucleon pair of sNN−−−√=5.02TeV. The measurement is performed using the Υ(nS)→μ+μ− decay mode, with data collected by the CMS experiment corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 32.6nb−1. Differential cross sections as functions of the Υ(nS) transverse momentum squared ...Journal Article -
Search for Flavor-Changing Neutral Currents in Top-Quark Decays t→Zq in pp Collisions at √s = 8 TeV
(2014)Physical Review LettersA search for flavor-changing neutral currents in top-quark decays t → Zq is performed in events produced from the decay chain t¯t → Zq + Wb, where both vector bosons decay leptonically, producing a final state with three leptons (electrons or muons). A data set collected with the CMS detector at the LHC is used, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 19.7 fb−1 of proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 8 TeV. No excess ...Journal Article -
Search for physics beyond the standard model in final states with a lepton and missing transverse energy in proton-proton collisions at √s = 8 TeV
(2015)Physical Review DA search for new physics in proton-proton collisions having final states with an electron or muon and missing transverse energy is presented. The analysis uses data collected in 2012 with the CMS detector, at an LHC center-of-mass energy of 8 TeV, and corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 19.7 fb−1. No significant deviation of the transverse mass distribution of the charged lepton-neutrino system from the standard model prediction ...Journal Article -
Search for new physics in top quark production in dilepton final states in proton-proton collisions at √s=13TeV
(2019)The European Physical Journal CA search for new physics in top quark production is performed in proton-proton collisions at 13TeV. The data set corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 35.9fb−1 collected in 2016 with the CMS detector. Events with two opposite-sign isolated leptons (electrons or muons), and b quark jets in the final state are selected. The search is sensitive to new physics in top quark pair production and in single top quark production in association ...Journal Article -
Search for an exotic decay of the Higgs boson to a pair of light pseudoscalars in the final state of two muons and two τ leptons in proton-proton collisions at √s=13 TeV
(2018)Journal of High Energy PhysicsA search for exotic Higgs boson decays to light pseudoscalars in the final state of two muons and two τ leptons is performed using proton-proton collision data recorded by the CMS experiment at the LHC at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV in 2016, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 35.9 fb−1. Masses of the pseudoscalar boson between 15.0 and 62.5 GeV are probed, and no significant excess of data is observed above the prediction ...Journal Article -
Search for an exotic decay of the Higgs boson to a pair of light pseudoscalars in the final state with two b quarks and two τ leptons in proton–proton collisions at s=13TeV
(2018)Physics Letters BA search for an exotic decay of the Higgs boson to a pair of light pseudoscalar bosons is performed for the first time in the final state with two b quarks and two τ leptons. The search is motivated in the context of models of physics beyond the standard model (SM), such as two Higgs doublet models extended with a complex scalar singlet (2HDM + S), which include the next-to-minimal supersymmetric SM (NMSSM). The results are based on a ...Journal Article -
Observation of prompt J/ψ meson elliptic flow in high-multiplicity pPb collisions at √s=8.16 TeV
(2019)Physics Letters, Section B: Nuclear, Elementary Particle and High-Energy PhysicsA measurement of the elliptic flow (v2) of prompt J/Ψ mesons in high-multiplicity pPb collisions is reported using data collected by the CMS experiment at a nucleon-nucleon center-of-mass energy √sNN=8.16 TeV. Prompt J/Ψ mesons decaying into two muons are reconstructed in the rapidity region in the nucleon-nucleon center-of-mass frame (Ycm), corresponding to either -2.86 < Ycm < -1.86 or 0.94 < Ycm y 1.94. The average v2 result from the ...Journal Article
