The human CTLH/GID (hGID) complex emerged as an important E3 ligase regulating multiple cellular processes, including cell cycle progression and metabolism. However, the range of biological functions controlled by hGID remains unexplored. Here, we used proximity-dependent biotinylation (BioID2) to identify proteins interacting with the hGID complex, among them, substrate candidates that bind GID4 in a pocket-dependent manner. Biochemical ...

  3. The volcanic/plutonic ratio in space and time, on Earth and beyond; How efficiently do magmas reach the surface during planetary evolution?

    Bachmann O.; Huber C. (2024)
    Lithos
With the recognition of multiple crustal cross sections on our planet, the advent of high-precision geochronology, and the ever-increasing application of geophysical imaging beneath volcanoes, we now know that volcanic rocks are the tip of a magmatic “heat”berg, overlying a significant igneous plumbing system that leaves many types of plutonic rocks in the crust. The ratio of volcanic to plutonic rocks in a given magmatic province (the ...

    Urban Forestry and Urban Greening
Urban trees are of high importance for healthy urban ecosystems. However, some trees are invasive plants that may ‘escape’ from urban areas into natural environments. Furthermore, invasive forest pests often arrive and establish in urban environments before they spread to forest ecosystems. Therefore, knowledge of tree species composition in urban areas is important for the biosecurity of cities and surrounding forests. Despite this, urban ...

    Advances in Mathematics
We give class number formulas for binary cubic and n-ary quadratic forms using a method of Hurwitz. We also show how the same method can be applied to give identities for certain multiple zeta values attached to symmetric cones.
