Search for vector-like quarks in events with two oppositely charged leptons and jets in proton-proton collisions at root s=13TeV
(2019)The European Physical Journal CA search for the pair production of heavy vector-like partners T and B of the top and bottom quarks has been performed by the CMS experiment at the CERN LHC using proton–proton collisions at s√=13TeV. The data sample was collected in 2016 and corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 35.9fb−1. Final states studied for TT¯¯¯¯ production include those where one of the T quarks decays via T→tZ and the other via T→bW, tZ, or tH, where H is ...Journal Article -
Search for single production of a vector-like T quark decaying to a Z boson and a top quark in proton-proton collisions at s = 13 TeV
(2018)Physics letters BA search is presented for single production of a vector-like quark (T) decaying to a Z boson and a top quark, with the Z boson decaying leptonically and the top quark decaying hadronically. The search uses data collected by the CMS experiment in proton–proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV in 2016, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 35.9 fb-1. The presence of forward jets is a particular characteristic of single ...Journal Article -
Measurements of the Higgs boson width and anomalous HVV couplings from on-shell and off-shell production in the four-lepton final state
(2019)Physical Review DStudies of on-shell and off-shell Higgs boson production in the four-lepton final state are presented, using data from the CMS experiment at the LHC that correspond to an integrated luminosity of 80.2 fb−1 at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV. Joint constraints are set on the Higgs boson total width and parameters that express its anomalous couplings to two electroweak vector bosons. These results are combined with those obtained from ...Journal Article -
Measurement of the energy density as a function of pseudorapidity in proton–proton collisions at √s=13TeV
(2019)The European Physical Journal CA measurement of the energy density in proton–proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of s√=13 TeV is presented. The data have been recorded with the CMS experiment at the LHC during low luminosity operations in 2015. The energy density is studied as a function of pseudorapidity in the ranges −6.6<η<−5.2 and 3.15<|η|<5.20. The results are compared with the predictions of several models. All the models considered suggest a different ...Journal Article -
Search for a standard model-like Higgs boson in the mass range between 70 and 110 GeV in the diphoton final state in proton-proton collisions at s=8 and 13 TeV
(2019)Physics Letters BThe results of a search for a standard model-like Higgs boson in the mass range between 70 and 110 GeV decaying into two photons are presented. The analysis uses the data set collected with the CMS experiment in proton-proton collisions during the 2012 and 2016 LHC running periods. The data sample corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 19.7 at (13) TeV. The expected and observed 95% confidence level upper limits on the product of the ...Journal Article -
Measurement of exclusive ρ(770)0 photoproduction in ultraperipheral pPb collisions at √sNN=5.02Te
(2019)The European Physical Journal CExclusive ρ(770)0 photoproduction is measured for the first time in ultraperipheral pPb collisions at sNN−−−√=5.02TeV with the CMS detector. The cross section σ(γp→ρ(770)0p) is 11.0±1.4(stat)±1.0(syst) μb at ⟨Wγp⟩=92.6GeV for photon–proton centre-of-mass energies Wγp between 29 and 213GeV. The differential cross section dσ/d|t| is measured in the interval 0.025<|t|<1GeV2 as a function of Wγp, where t is the squared four-momentum transfer ...Journal Article -
Measurement of the Splitting Function in pp and Pb-Pb Collisions at √sNN=5.02 TeV
(2018)Physical Review LettersData from heavy ion collisions suggest that the evolution of a parton shower is modified by interactions with the color charges in the dense partonic medium created in these collisions, but it is not known where in the shower evolution the modifications occur. The momentum ratio of the two leading partons, resolved as subjets, provides information about the parton shower evolution. This substructure observable, known as the splitting ...Journal Article -
Search for Monotop Signatures in Proton-Proton Collisions at √s=8 TeV
(2015)Physical Review LettersResults are presented from a search for new decaying massive particles whose presence is inferred from an imbalance in transverse momentum and which are produced in association with a single top quark that decays into a bottom quark and two light quarks. The measurement is performed using 19.7 fb−1 of data from proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 8 TeV, collected with the CMS detector at the CERN LHC. No deviations ...Journal Article -
Search for Narrow Resonances in Dijet Final States at √s=8 TeV with the Novel CMS Technique of Data Scouting
(2016)Physical Review LettersA search for narrow resonances decaying into dijet final states is performed on data from proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 8 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 18.8 fb−1. The data were collected with the CMS detector using a novel technique called data scouting, in which the information associated with these selected events is much reduced, permitting collection of larger data samples. This technique ...Journal Article -
Evidence for Collective Multiparticle Correlations in p-Pb Collisions
(2015)Physical Review LettersThe second-order azimuthal anisotropy Fourier harmonics, v2, are obtained in p−Pb and PbPb collisions over a wide pseudorapidity (η) range based on correlations among six or more charged particles. The p-Pb data, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 35 nb−1, were collected during the 2013 LHC p-Pb run at a nucleon-nucleon center-of-mass energy of 5.02 TeV by the CMS experiment. A sample of semiperipheral PbPb collision data at ...Journal Article
