COSMOS photometric redshift catalog
(2017)We present accurate photometric redshifts (photo-z) in the 2-deg2 COSMOS field. The redshifts are computed with 30 broad, intermediate, and narrowbands covering the UV (Galaxy Evolution Explorer), visible near-IR (NIR; Subaru, Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope (CFHT), United Kingdom Infrared Telescope, and National Optical Astronomy Observatory), and mid-IR (Spitzer/IRAC). A χ2 template-fitting method (Le Phare) was used and calibrated with ...Data Collection -
NIR spectral analysis of star-forming galaxies
(2017)In this paper, we follow up on our previous detection of nuclear ionized outflows in the most massive (log(M*/M☉)≥10.9) z∼1-3 star-forming galaxies (SFGs) by increasing the sample size by a factor of six (to 44 galaxies above log(M*/M☉)≥10.9) from a combination of the SINS/zC-SINF, LUCI, GNIRS, and KMOS3D spectroscopic surveys. For the analysis in this paper, we included a total of 110 SFGs at z∼1-3 with near-IR integral field or slit ...Data Collection -
Galaxy Zoo: A catalog of overlapping galaxy pairs
(2013)Analysis of galaxies with overlapping images offers a direct way to probe the distribution of dust extinction and its effects on the background light. We present a catalog of 1990 such galaxy pairs selected from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) by volunteers of the Galaxy Zoo project. We highlight subsamples which are particularly useful for retrieving such properties of the dust distribution as UV extinction, the extent perpendicular ...Data Collection -
H2O spectra of 29 nearby Class 0/I protostars
(2014)Outflows are an important part of the star formation process as both the result of ongoing active accretion and one of the main sources of mechanical feedback on small scales. Water is the ideal tracer of these effects because it is present in high abundance for the conditions expected in various parts of the protostar, particularly the outflow. We constrain and quantify the physical conditions probed by water in the outflow-jet system ...Data Collection -
Dark matter in dSph galaxies
(2012)Due to their large dynamical mass-to-light ratios, dwarf spheroidal galaxies (dSphs) are promising targets for the indirect detection of dark matter (DM) in γ-rays. We examine their detectability by present and future γ-ray observatories. The key innovative features of our analysis are as follows: (i) we take into account the angular size of the dSphs; while nearby objects have higher γ-ray flux, their larger angular extent can make them ...Data Collection -
